White-legged Damselfly during morning hygienic ritual.
One from photos from new book ,,The Dragonflies of Czech Republic,, the biggest european publication about dragonflies by Ales Dolny et al. (released 12/2008, 672s, weigh 3,8kg).
Breeds in well-vegetated, slow-flowing streams and rivers, but sometimes also in ponds and lakes. It is the only European Platycnemis ever found in completely water. Floating vegetation, such as plant debris or waterlilly leaves, is reguired for oviposition. ...from The Dragonflies of Europe (Askew). |

Witaj,
Doskonale też skomponowałeś to zdjęcie. Bardzo Ci za nie dziękuję i pozdrawiam z Polski.
Alina

Hello Martin,
Good capture of this "D" fly in action. Details are great and colors are contrasting well. Compositon and POV are excellent with soft BG.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Martin
This is a lovely shot of the Platycnemis pennipes posing here very nicely from you!
The details are impeccably sharp and the terrific DOF you chose is excellent to keep the entire subject in very good focus while giving you a gorgeous blurry BG at the same time.
Lovely, well saturated colors and excellent composition on top of everything.
Bravo and TFS
Horia
PS: is this new book "The Dragonflies of Czech Republic" going to be published in English, too? If yes, i might also be interested in it :)
