[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When I was working as a nest surveyor for the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge in Washington State I had a favorite .location that I visited almost every time I ventured to the outback of the Carty Unit of the Refuge. I was fortunate to be set up and awaiting any life forms that may visit the marsh this day, and the only time that the Sandhills landed was in fact, this one day. In the foreground you are able to distinguish a Great Blue Heron, normally the lookout for all the other species, but this day not only was it aware that I was camouflauged and awaiting for it to appear. Out of my oldest of archives remaining of the refuge images I still have...

Hallo Steven
What a delightful view! The combination of colours in this image is splendid. The whole scenery is one of tranquillity and peacefulness. How I wish I could see this with my own eyes. I find it hard to find the right words to describe what I am seeing in front of me, as I am sure this is a piece of paradise. I think the arrangement of colour add to this wonderful extravaganza. Thanks for sharing a piece of nature’s serenity with me.
Kind regards
Anna

Hello Steve,
Wonderful capture!! A whole herd of them or is it flock? Very nice composition containing birds, water and beautiful foliage!
I actually spotted the heron right off the bat. I have never seen a Sandhill Crane in the wild, but understand that there are some up at Lake Erie, which is only an hours drive north of me. Hopefully I'll catch a glimpse of some this year.

Hi Steve
This looks like the place I ran in to a couple Bee's. I like the colors and the reflection you captured here. Nice Job.

Hello Steven,
This is such a peaceful place! Wondeful colors of the vegetation and lovely reflections in the water. These birds live in a kind of paradise. I hope that in the twenty years since your photo, nothing has changed!
Thanks too for your kind visit to my picture.
Yes, spring arrived, finally!!
Meilleures salutations
Anne
