[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dikkop (Spotted Dikkop or Thick-knee) Burhinus capensis. This one was trying to hide away from my lens. After he had his breakfast in the Aviary at the Krugersdorp Game Reserve, he went for a rest in the shade of a tree. I think this is a good example of how good their camoflage is.

Nice, Annalise. This is perfect camoflage. Fits in nicely with the surroundings. Flash might have improved the shadow on the head and upper part of the body. Welcome back and hope to see many more images!!!

Annalise, this is a great example of their camo abilities. These Dikkop's have the nicest eyes. nice capture showing it in the natural surroundings. I dared a WS.

You got his eye nice and bright!
However, I would crop most of the bottom off , and some of the top too, to get more of a pano view. This willenhance your picture.

I love these guys and had to go through some trouble to get one to post. Their camoflage is excellent and they are quite clever as well. I really like this shot, the colors are earthy and the sharpness great. Groetnis

I like your Dikkop Annalise. All in brouwn tones and you put yourself at the same level as your subject. Very good DOF and sharpness. A good Job. TFS.
