Last few weeks it is snowing almost all the time, and I really dreaming about something much colourful and optimistic than winter colours so... today something from my archive :>

This is a summer view for Mannikjarve Bog,
Endla Nature Reserve
. Some details about this place and also about peat-bogs were given by me here, so this time I a few details about plants living in such habitats :>

The most important plant species of peat-bogs belong to Sphagnum genus. These are the real "peat-bogs creators".

Among Sphagnum many other plant species can live. Some of the most interesting are and common:
- insectivorous sundews (Drosera)

- cottongrasses (Eriophorum)

- wild rosemaries (Rhododendron tomentosum)

- cranberries (Vaccinium oxycoccos)

And these were rather small species. The biggest one is Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), but in the peat-bots can not grow to its maximum size, it is rather much smaller and dwarf (see the picture :>).

Thank you in advance for visit and comments! :>

Hello Radomir,
What a beautiful and sunny bog, an environment I like very much - I can imagine the silence, the lovely scent and beautiful Sundew and Cottongrass all over! Makes me really long for summer! A lovely composition in beautiful colours and with nice depth. I like the small clouds floating around too! Well done!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Radomir,
A fine capture of a wonderful bog habitat in great composition with the bog poll in the FG and typical old stunted pines surrounding it.
Endla Bog looks like a good place for bogland insects and interesting species of woodpecker in the surrounding pine forest!
Thanks for sharing this fine summery image, especially when we have just had more snow!
Best regards,

Hi Radomir!

Hmm, aren't winter colours delightful, too?

Well, it's true, your colours here are warm and remember us the warm days to come. It's a classical, yet very pleasant landscape picture, and I like the impression of wideness and lonelyness very much. I hope it helps you to be patient... For me it's just the opposite: I hope not to see this too soon!

Kind regards

Hi Radomir.
I often visited Estonia (however, it was Tallinn) in my last life :). Unfortunately, I did not know that there are so wonderful places. May be I would buy the photo camera twenty years earlier. Stunning landscape and so amazing picture. Pictorial scene, awesome colours, superb POV and framing. My congratulations on so beauty.

Hello Radomir !
Wow, this is such a wonderful landscape - and yes, I need some colors, too, as the winter seems to have no end in France too. I just LOVE the vivid colors on this picture, but I also like the composition, the POV, and the fine details throughout the whole picture. Very well done !

Hi Radomir,

a highly unusual sight, this completely swimming bog. It is beautiful, the contrast of the colors, the clarity of the sky. and the dark water! I'm sure you found interesting dragonfly species here. That bog must have been dangerous to thread!

Best regards

Hi again Radek, another excellent scene capture of a wonderful wetland from a great POV with nice composition. Individual clouds enhance the composition so well.
TFS and cheers,
