Hi folks,

I was away from TN in the last few weeks, only had time to write some critiques. But I'm here again, and returned to my beloved fungi. This time I show a locally frequent specie, Marasmius alliaceus, which I'd like to dedicate to Miss Valérie Schnepp (valy67). She also likes fungi very much, and even the smallest species, this is why I chose this photo from my archives to her.

Marasmius alliaceus is a common specie in the Hungarian deciduous forests (most of all in beech), growing either on the ground, on broken small branches or on fallen leaves. Saprobic. Not edible directly, due to its hot taste, which is quite similar to garlic, but sometimes used as spice.

Tech: shot in super macro mode with a compact camera, slight cropping, sharpening the fungus, noise reduction and gaussian blur to the background, contrast and exposure correction, framing, signing, re-sizing. I hope You like it.

Hi Laszlo,
Very nice close up and nice dedication for Valerie.I liked POV,3D effect, exposure and composition a lot.Very well done!
Thanks for posting.

Hello Laszlo
I think you stay closeby where they produce the movies for children about elves and dwarfs and all that kind of stuff. This colourful fungi belongs in one of those movies. To me this is really something special and has great character to it. Details are displayed well and the dried leaves scattered around in the back rounds of this great image. Thanks for sharing this fairytale image, and it is indeed a lovely dedication to Valerie.
Kind regards.

Hi Laszlo,
a simple but beautiful fungi. the cap is excellent like a pyramid.
Colours well seen and surrounding well kept intact.
I like the softness and the sharp gills surrounding the head.
Well presented in natural form.
