[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Sultan Tit - Melanochlora sultanea

This is a relative shy noisy bird that generally stay well clear of people except on this day! Not a very common bird and is rather difficult to photograph as it is quite skittish.

It averages 20 - 21 cm in length and found mainly in the higher altitudes (well in Peninsula Malaysia I have only seen these below 1200m)

Wow, Phil... I have never seen this bird before.
Love that yellow crest and bright eye.
Striking color contrast of the black and yellow.
Very handsome pose at that.
TFS. : )

Hi Phil,

A nice and colorfull capture, you were lucky that you could approach this shy bird that close, the bird has a nice attractive pose, only pity that the branch in the FG was a bit in the way,but this happens in birdphotography, btw in your intro I read I am not the only master mariner on TN who is in nature photography, nice to know,

Regards,
Paul

Hello Phil,
The best photo of this Sultan Tit I've seen so far. The sharp details in the bird are excellent, even in the difficult black part. Great pose, POV and beautiful clear colours. Pleasant composition.
Regards,
Peter

Hi Phill!
Perfect bird photography except for the tail.
How lucky you got 'tit of sultan' captured digitally!. ;)
I and a group of Bird Photographer from Singapore and Penang went to Bukit Tinggi last weekend, but fail to photography this. Heard it very high up, but not respond call. Lucky that we got the "Japan bird" there.

Best regards,
/Redzlan/.
