I wish to dedicate another unusual pose of Great Spotted Woodpecker to our friend Asbed (CeltickRanger, he loves to capture poetically the marvels of Nature), to Gert (ellis49, a Master of Photography) and to all friends on TN. On the WORKSHOP i have posted another shot of the series from my previous to this picture showing evidently the upside down pose of this Great Spotted Woodpecker on an horizontal branch.

Dendrocopos major (Linnaeus 1758) Picoides major
Great Spotted Woodpecker (inglese)
Pic épeiche (francese)

ordine Piciformes
famiglia Picidae
genere Dendrocopos

Picidae

Ciao Maurizio,
A fine capture of a female D. major from a POV below her taken with excellent sharpness though the branches against a fine blue sky. This makes a nice dedication to two friends on TN, Asbed and Gert who in their different ways contribute to the well being of this site.
Thanks and have a good weekend,
Ivan

Good for you and good for Asbed..there is no other man such as Asbed in this world...his heart is more in the natural world than many of us put together...A nice dedication and a fine sharp image with good contrasts due to low light...it works for me!

Ciao Maurizio, immagino come deve essere stata difficile la messa a fuoco con tutti quei rametti, altro delizioso ccellino splendidamente ripreso con magnifici dettagli, bravo, buon week end, ciao Silvio

Ciao amico Maurizio,
An awesome shot of this cute woodpeceker from fine POV with nice composition. Also a pleasant dedication!
TFS and have a nice Sunday!
Cheers,
Bayram

hello Maurizio

first of all thank you very much for your dedication,
2 excellent photographys but the one of the workshop
it is my prefered, then i have to tell you that with Gert
you are also among the Master photographers of TN,
and finally this year i started in-flight shots of woodpeckers
and the woodpecker became one of my favorite
« in-flight capture photography » subjects,
i have many in-flight photos not published yet

excellent photography of the Pic épeiche, shot with
fine POV that in French we say « en contre-plongé »,
superb focus on the bird, excellent sharpness and details,
there is some off-focus branches on the foreground
but it does not matter me and even i am happy
that they are here because our freinds the birds are
in the nature and branches are part of their environnement,

again thank you Maurizio today i have done several
in-flight photos of woodpeckers but they where
or off-focus or « infected » by digital noise, TFS

again i love the one on the worshop because
his acrobatic pose on the tree branch,

TFS

Maurizio, Beautiful shot and what a lovely pose. The focus is pretty sharp Ganesh

Agradezco siempre tus comentarios .

Hi Maurizio!

Your series about the birds is impressive and magnificent. In this picture, I like the bird's position very much and also the delicate environment. The blurred lines of the branches create a special effect that is very pleasant. I'm also always impressed by the quality of your instructive notes.

Kind regards

Markus

ciao Maurizio!
nonostante la fastidiosa ramificazione,
buona la cattura di questo picchio femmina
che insieme alla precedente costituisce un
ottima serie ...

ciao sERGIO

Bonjour Maurizio,
Anne

Hello Maurizio !
I like this picture very much, cute pose of the bird, he looks curious and attentive - and he's really beautiful ! Pictue is also very nicely composed, with natural colors, and it's a wonderful dedication to Asbed and Gert - both are such talented photographers ! Very well done !

Complimenti e grazie, ciao, Emanuele
