This was the first bloom I saw this year. It is a croccus but it grows wild in my yard under a red maple tree and was never planted. In fact I've seen a lot of different colored croccus but never any with such delicately colored petals. I always look forward every year to seeing this beauty within the dead looking grass.

This flower to me is the first sign of spring and signifies eternal hope for all other new life to come.

Taken with macro setting... hand-held, auto everything, PP to adjust for my usual.

Hi Larry!

You present us two magnificent spring messengers, the colours are so bright and the sharpness reveals beautiful details. The dark background highlights the plain beauty of this flower very well.

I like your narrative story very much. It's touching to read how you enjoy this moment every year. In spring, I always go to the mountains in my region where I know a place where thousands of crocuses cover the pastures. Looking from far, it seems that there still is snow or that the ground is covered with hailstones because most of them are white or like yours white and pink.

Next time when I will see them (in about a week or two) I will think at you.

Kind regards

perfect. Colours, composition, sharpness - a very nice picture of art.

Hi Larry,

When I lived back East the crocus was always one of the first signs of spring. These are beautiful with wonderful colors and clarity. The framing and composition are spectacular.

Bonjour Larry,
Magnifique composition pour cette splendide publication minimaliste et très artistique ; l'opposition sur l'arrière plan est remarquable ainsi que la finesse des détails.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
