Another sandpiper shot taken on the same trip. This one was a bit of a fluke with regard to the water splash. Sandpipers like to cruise the receding tides in search of any food that gets left behind in the shallow pools.
Sandpipers can often be seen dipping their long slender beaks into the shallows to pick up some food.

Shot at 300mm (450mm equivalent)
