I got several full frames of this bird while resting in Sultanpur. The Eurasian Thick Knee or the Stone Curlew is primarily a nocturnal bird but frequently moves around in the daytime.

Though classified as a wader it prefers dry open or woody areas. While foraging it sits down like in this picture before picking up its prey, which are largely insects, grubs and small reptiles
