|I got several full frames of this bird while resting in Sultanpur. The Eurasian Thick Knee or the Stone Curlew is primarily a nocturnal bird but frequently moves around in the daytime. |
Though classified as a wader it prefers dry open or woody areas. While foraging it sits down like in this picture before picking up its prey, which are largely insects, grubs and small reptiles

One of the best photos of a Thick-knee I've ever seen. Great sharp details and beautiful contrast in the natural colours. Good low POV and composition.
