[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the first glimpse of Yumthang Valley, which you will see while entering into this high altitude area. Yumthang valley is a mesmerizing scene with yaks grazing on flower - carpeted meadows against a backdrop of towering peaks. It has breathtaking views where one can become a part of a timeless scene without any kind of intrusion.

PS: This kind of photography is liked by Bob Shannon; hence this panorama is dedicated to Bob; once again :) Hope you all like it too.

************************************************************************************

Yumthang Valley is a grazing pasture surrounded by the Himalayan mountains in the North Sikkim district of Sikkim, India. It is at an elevation of 3,575 metres (11,800) above msl at a distance of 150 km from the state capital Gangtok. It is also home to the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, and has over twenty-four species of the rhododendron, the state flower. A tributary of the river Teesta flows past the valley and the town of Lachung, the nearest inhabited centre. Yumthang is closed between December and March due to heavy snowfall.

So...you see I do use the foreground at times to help set a tone or a depth...or sometimes even frame. I am much honored by all of your dedications. You are a man of good will from India...My wife and I speak of you often!
Bob
