[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Group of flamingos at the San Francisco Zoo

A well-fed, healthy flamingo is more vibrantly coloured and thus a more desirable mate. A white or pale flamingo, however, is usually unhealthy or malnourished. Captive flamingos are a notable exception; many turn a pale pink as they are not fed carotene at levels comparable to the wild. This is changing as more zoos begin to add prawns and other supplements to the diets of their flamingos.

Hi dear Michael ,
Nice shot.
It has beautiful colour.
Well done

Ciao Michel, original closeup, fine details and splendid sharpness, lovely double composition, I like a lot, bravo, ciao Silvio

I have always found flamingos to be frustrating subjects as I've never found a POV to adequately express their "flamingoness". You've achieved what I've been looking for with this beautifully sharp, wonderfully colored photo, a panorama of bodies. I like this very much.
Kind regards,
