Hi Folks , after going for a short walk to our local Park called George Lane Memorial , all that I can say is Wow ! , there where so many birds that I could hardly believe it.

on the rivers edge there seemed to be some type of attraction , several varieties of warbles as well as spotted sandpipers where fly-catching , I caught this yellow-rumped warbler giving a nice show of its plumage.

fly-catching is not a primary food source for the yellow-rumped warbler , they typically forage the tree canopies , and in winter eating berries.

this warbler is seen in its summer colors , though this image does not show it its rump very well, in summer color it is white , but in its paler brown winter colors that rump is yellow , I had before wondered why a bird with a white rump was called a yellow-rumped warbler , but I have never seen this bird in winter;-).....

thanks for stopping in

Wonderful shot!!! congratulations

An elegant dancing pose in which you have captured this beautiful Warbler, Art.
A very timely shot that shows the beauty and symmetry of its spread-out wings and tail very sharply.
The grey BG supplements the subject well.
Thanks and regards.

Hi Art,

Very nice capture of a Yellow-rumped Warbler. I've taken many shots of them, but I've never caught one with its wings and tail spread as you are showing. Good colors and details.

In the past week, I've taken photos of this species with and without a yellow rump. Maybe, it's age-related. In any case, they're sure pretty little birds -- as you have shown well in your photo. TFS.

Hello Art,
It sounds very attractive to me to make a walk in your local park, but it's a bit to far away.
Great photo in beautiful colours and very good sharpness. Excellent pose, timing. Very beautiful composition and OOF BG.

Beautiful little bird capture with excellent details and natural colors.

I like this action shot. Good colours and focus with just the slightest sense of movement. Love the composition.

Regards Bill.
