Hi all!

After four weeks in Greece (western, central, eastern Greece, Ionian Islands) together with my wife I'm back and glad to meet my buddies on TN again.

Now, some may wonder why I don't post a picture of this country. Sure, I have made a lot of beautiful pictures, I have seen many fantastic landscapes and discovered incredible colour tones of the sea, especially on the Ionian Island of Lefkada. But it was a hard job to avoid the pet bottles, the plastic and aluminium cans, the plastic bags, the toilet papers, refrigerators, rosty cars and all what the people there just throw away...

I'm shocked, disappointed and sad although I had a wonderful and restful holiday. I probably will keep the pictures for our personal souvenir, they don't reflect - or only partially do - the reality as we have lived it.

Yesterday was my last day off. It was quite cold here and the summits above 1600m were white. So I went to "my" Plasselbschlund again, walked through the stony bed of the river Ärgera and looked for some shapes, patterns and colours in the flysch... As you can see, I can't resist to my passion that still is intact. And I appreciated to "crawl" through an untouched piece of nature...

N.B. Taken in RAW, basic level corrections in Camera Raw; import to PS, level corrections, sharpness.

Kind regards

Hello Markus,
Good to see you back. A alarming note!
But this photo is a great pleasure to look at. Most of all I like your choice of composition and the variety in forms and colours. Light and colours are very beautiful.

hello Markus
how much dirty is Greece, I know perhaps better, however it is unfair that you condemn so much easily, even photographic, you did not search well? neither asked? neither you searched it? you did not see what it should you see,you see as tourist only busy sights, sure full waste,I photograph Greece 25 years without I process in photoshop her waste, I could fill album with that, as I have filled with her incomparable beauties. It would be pleasant we see your good impressions from Greece,
except and if you only photographed boxes coca cola.

I like a lot your photo, i like the natural forms that you choose,
my best regards

Hello Markus,

I can say I did not know that Greece had the problem of getting waste to throw here and there. However, here in Venezuela many people seem to have this bad habit, and the authorities do little to correct it. A pity, because here we also have beautiful landscapes that are affected by such practices.

But, leaving that to one side!

This photo impressed me at first sight when I opened the gallery today in TN!. Very successful, excellent contrast, superb detail, together with an excellent approach. A natural art, well composed and with excellent framing.

I was watching the rest of their photos, and really fascinating.

Great job, very technical and quite taken with "passion".

Hi Markus,

I saw the thumbnail and without seeing a name thought - Markus is back!!!! It is so nice to see your beautiful works of art once again. Wonderful colors, shapes and patterns - once more allowing us to see the world through your eyes. Welcome home.

Uplifting...or outcropping...RAW indeed, both in image and in geology...these are the parts of geology which make history...as in hundreds of thousands of years. Then you take them and compose them as you wish to make geology an art form! BTW You would love the Channeled Scablands. my guess is we could let you loose in there for a month and you would never want to leave.....

Sad, Markus...I feel the same way about many places dear to me...
there's too much new money around, people can travel cheap or for free, and most simply do not see the reason behind keeping their filth to themselves!
A superb shot!

Hi, Markus, again.
I like typical for your subject and highest quality of the image. Stone pattern is reflected amazingly with incredible sharpness and details and terrific colour and light passages. Superb job. Bravo.

Hello Markus,
I missed your special shots on TN. Now I know why you were absent. Why is it that countries that specialise in tourism don't bother to deal with the waste. I have also seen this problem all too often!
A wonderful capture of a flysch face showing a beautiful pattern of cracks and gentle colours.
Thanks and welcome back,

Ciao Markus,

Mein Respekt.
Ich wünsche dir was,

Hello Markus,
Nice to see you back and with a lovely artistic observation of natural patterns. A very fine composition in lovely light and colours and I like the patterns.
There are many times we have to close our eyes to what is ugly and instead enjoy what beauty there is left on our planet.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

I know you can't resist the temptation of going back to your favourite theme, Markus.
This time too, you have chosen an appealing formation and photographed it well.
I do hope that despite your frustration with the litter at most touristy places in Greece, you enjoyed the trip in many other ways.
Welcome back and looking forward to your stand-alone creativity in nature photography.

Merci,

Hello Markus
an incredible abstract capture for light, colors and perfect focusing.Your shots are unmistakable.

Hy Markus and nice to see you back! I hope you had a wanderful holiday. I understand you very well when you are speaking about the diverse things left by humans and that poluted our nice environments. So, it is much more easy to approach to macro world and to prezent another simple picture with the flish.
All the best, Oana

Great sharpness, details, stuctures.
Nature but than different.

Hola Markus,
