This is one of two young Robins in the garden . The other one was on the fence at the time i took this one. I would think they have come from the same brood as they are the same size. They seem to like sitting on the post over looking the garden.

Robin ( Erithacus rubecula ) Length 14cm.
The Robin is one of the most familiar and popular garden Birds of all. The Robin is an aggressive species with the males sometimes fighting to the death to defend their territory.
The male and female are almost identical with brown crown, wings, upperparts and tail, a grey band along the sides of the breast, white belly and the famous red breast which is actually a deep orange colour. Juvenile Birds can cause confusion as they lack red in their plumage, being a rather dull spotty brown in colour.
Robins sing all year round, defending summer and winter territories with their fluty melodic song.
The Robin can be found in almost every garden as it is one of the tamest Birds, happily feeding alongside humans as they work. They will often take live food such as Earthworms or Mealworms from the hand.
Breeds from March to August building a cup shaped nest from grass and leaves lined with hair. Lays 4-6 pale blue-white eggs lightly spotted with red and incubates for 13-15 days. The young fledge after 12-14 days. They often have two broods

Hello Nick,
Great details and lighting. Have seen several species of young birds just recently, but not a Robin. So good to see one here. Thanks.

Hi Nick,

Tis the season for baby birds. Just like our infants they are precious and grow up too fast. Of course, this Robin will be a beautiful bird. Wonderful shot in a lovely pose. The details are so fine that we can see every feather. Face, eye, and plumage are all perfect. Nice natural colors, wonderful background and an excellent composition.

Hola Nick,
excelente retrato,
con buen enfoque y color...
saludos amigo.

Hello Nick,

This is lovely!
The focus is spot on and reveals the details of the speckled breast very well. Good catch-light and a fine alert pose.

We had a family of robins on our decking.
It was so interesting to watch the parent caring for three youngsters. All the birds seemed to have the this alert posture, a real robin trait.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

After having written my last comment on the previous of your's, I now find myself back in your garden...but it's ok...I think if I were an older man or just me with some bad insight...I would enjoy being laid where my heart is...and that includes Jane BTW:-)
