[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Summer is very strange this year. Sunny days with very high temperatures and rains and thunderstorms every day or night. This is typical weather for summer, so why I called it strange? Because I don't remember where this kind of weather was last time. Maybe in my childhood. Later summers were always rainy or dry, I didn't remember mixed one. Back to my photo - this is Maniola jurtina captured on reed's leaf, resting nearby pond in Botanic Garden. There is real flood of these buterflies on every part of meadows and forests. They're everywhere in great numbers. Sadly there isn't Lycaenidae at all - after five hours of walking, I spotted ONE.

Hello Greg,
You're right, the weather is really strange - we had three weeks of drought and yesterday a thunderstorm with a downpour of 20 mm. in 30min! 29oC every day! And a real lack of insects so far but hopefully they'll now get going! Still, this butterfly is busy here too and I love the way it flies among the tall grass. A very fine close-up!!
TFS and cheers, Ulla

Excellent capture, sharp details, nice colors and light and great BG,
TFS and regards,

Hello Greg,
A fine macro of a female Meadow brown taken from an ideal POV to show its closed wings with excellent sharpness against the customary OOF natural BG.
It's been hot here too but mostly very dry and the lycaenid life is almost non-existent now! :((
Thanks and have fine weekend,

Hello Greg,

A beautiful capture with excellent details, sharpness & natural colors. Well done. TFS.

Hi Grzegorz,

higher natural colors, perfect contrast and brightness a little harsh, but good results.

Excellent cut and fit for the very simple composition, but very efficient!

greetings & TFS

Good work!
