Trichius fasciatus (Linnaeus, 1758)

This Bee Beetle has an approximately length of 10mm. The wing casings on the bee beetle vary in colour from creamy-yellow to deep orange. The bodies are very hairy and resemble bumble bees - hence the name.

This Painted Lady is almost global in its distribution.
In general, the Painted Lady is a large butterfly (wing span 5--9–cm (2--2 7/8 in)) identified by the black and white corners of its mainly deep orange, black-spotted wings. It has 5 white spots in the black forewing tips and while the orange areas may be pale here and there, there are no clean white dots in them. The hindwings carry 4 small submarginal eyespots on dorsal and ventral sides. Those on the dorsal side are black, but in the summer morph sometimes small blue pupils are present in some. (Wikipedia)

Hi Catherine. What a fine pair, One would be good but twi is fantastic. It a fine close up of the Painted Lady and the Bee, I like the OOF BG . They stand out so well from the green colours. All with good detail . Well done TFS.

but to shot two different insects species with one shot...Wow! You did a good job :)

The colors are great. The sharpness is well controlled with nice pOV and good DOF. The clarity in the picture is just ideal. The dark blurred BG is simply awesome. Well done!

Bonjour Catherine,
Une image qui ne paie pas de mine sur le thumbnail! Mais en cliquant dessus s'ouvre une image très artistique d'un petit coin de nature avec deux belles espèces d'insectes se plaisant sur ce magnifique chardon mauve.
Ces trois espèces fréquentent et se trouvent aussi sur mon pré à la montagne.
