LAC DE MONTORGE

Situated on 786m altitude, very close to the city of Sion, this is a natural small lake, which today is a natural reserve. Next to the lake there is also the "Maison de la Nature" which shows interesting exhibitions on Nature subjects.
This area is well-known for its fauna (especially birds) and flora (wild tulips, Orchids,Water Lilies).
How you can see on the picture there are also very old and still beautiful trees, especially willows.
In the sediments of the lake have been found pollens of wild wines of 9000 years age. This area still produces exellent vine, because of a dry climate and a ideal soil for wines. You can see that the light and the configuration of this landscape looks quite southern.

Hi Anne...

I love the layered look and depth of this photo from the mountains in the far distance to the lake in the foreground and the relationship of size indicated by the person sitting on the bank. The lighting and muted colors give the overall photo a feeling of serenity and peace. Well seen and presented. TFS.

Bonita toma Anne. Destacaría sin duda las diferentes tonalidades del verde. Interesante explicación y me gusta conocer esos rincones de tu País que me dan envidia al verlos.
Que tengas un buen fin de semana.
Abrazo: Josep Ignasi.

Hi Anne,
Beautiful scenery and photo ...
Here, the butterflies are beautiful.
High mountains and deep, color and detail is excellent.
Have a anice weekend,
Seyfi

Hi Anne,
I like the different layers of trees and mountains and in this situation I don't mind the person as it gives scale and is not dominant in the composition.
It looks like the sun was tough to control causing many bright spots on the leaves which became even more noticable by the sharpening of the photo. You might have more control using a CP filter.
TFS,
Niek

Wow! What a wonderful landscape...something I am not accustomed to seeing from you..but this change in photography is one which I enjoy. Landscapes are my business..and this would certainly look good in my gallery overall!

Bonsoir Anne.

Philippe.
