Lightning is an atmospheric discharge of electricity accompanied by thunder, which typically occurs during thunderstorms, and sometimes during volcanic eruptions or dust storms.[1] In the atmospheric electrical discharge, a leader of a bolt of lightning can travel at speeds of 60,000 m/s (130,000 mph), and can reach temperatures approaching 30,000 °C (54,000 °F), hot enough to fuse silica sand into glass channels known as fulgurites which are normally hollow and can extend some distance into the ground.[2][3] There are some 16 million lightning storms in the world every year

Hello Robi,
An impressive bit of timing in capturing the lightening of the thunderstorm. Seen with excellent sharpness, though the 'light pollution' of the town in the FG is a less suitable part of this shot for TN.
Interesting to see the lightening though!

Amazing amazing timing, Robi! The lightening has come out so well - just captivates one's attention. The small dots like lights in the foreground give your shot a magical appearance.

Bonjour Robi,
Avec un peu de retard, je découvre ma chère ville frappée par la foudre. La composition est belle, l'éclair étant tombé juste au bon endroit pour ton image. Très bonne netteté aussi. Une image qui conviendrait probabalement mieux sur TEarth.
Je suis malade depuis presqu'une semaine ce qui explique mon retard.

Hi Robi.
This summer is very busy for me on work. And I spend a lot of time in countryside where is not Internet. I have not time for TN and even for photography. However, I am very pleased with your visit and opportunity to see your new superb shots.

This one is very impressive. I have not any shot of flash and I am amazed with your experience. Excellent timing and exposure of the shot, so impressive dark colour palette and framing of this wonderful nature phenomenon. My greetings and all the best. TFS.
