Sandmartin and Chick

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Found a colony of Sandmartins on the clay cliffs on the Yorkshire coast. These birds exit the nest burrow like exocet missiles so cranked the iso up to 1,250 to get a very fast shutter speed. |

Hello John
Asolutel superb stop action detail here. Love the angle and the little head peeking out of the next completes the story of this image perfectly. Nice framing compliments your shot well too.
Thank you for posting
Kind regards Helen

Hello John,
A fine action shot, the result of great timing with a high shutter speed. Both these Sandmartins are taken with excellent sharpness with no discernable noise despite the high ISO. The adult leaving the burrow does look like a missile!
Nice work and TFS!
Best regards,
Ivan

excellent capture of the two nice sandmartins! :-) great composition with the young peeking out of the hole looking
after the old one dive-bombing from the cliff. superb job & best wishes, thor.
Hello John,
Not easy to capture the fast Sandmartins. You did it well. Good timing. I imagine a larger view on the cliff (horizontal) to have more DOF... Best regards,
Catherine
