On the edge of a pond, I found these purple loosestrife flowers with a few small butterflies. Not sure of the ID of the butterflies (some help please)... insects were not my field of study. :)

They resembled little flags to me and brought to mind the attributes of patience and perseverance, hence the title.

“Don't waste life in doubts and fears;
spend yourself on the work before you,
well assured that the right performance
of this hour's duties
will be the best preparation
for the hours and ages that will follow it.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hand-held, 12 X zoom fully extended, auto everything, some PP work, bright sunny day, slight random breeze.

Hello Larry,
How cute these flags are!! I cannot help with ID for American butterflies (the right one seems to be a species of Lycaenidae). I love your vertical framing, the fine color-contrast between pink and grey and the subject itself.
Very well seen.
Thanks and kind regards

This is superb Larry!
Not only a fine capture of Purple Loosestrife but the two butterlies on it a great bonus!
Th E skipper in the middle is I think a Silver Spotted anD the Lycaenid on the right a species of Hairstreak (Strymon sp.), probably a Coral.
I must look both these up when I have more time, but we have guests coming now!

Hello Larry,

A nice shot with beautiful colors & details.

Well done & TFS.

Best regards

Dear Larry
I like your image a lot. It is striking and very inviting. The butterflies captured on the lovely purple flowers make it even more friendly and appealing. I am sure by now you know that purple is my most favourite colour and that I cannot pass an image that contains this colour without stopping by and appreciate the beauty of it. I also think that you are a very wise man, because I always enjoy your notes and quotes. Today’s is also very special and true. It was a sheer pleasure stopping by these lovely flowers. The image as a whole has Spring is in the air written all over it.
Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

I apologize, that I was not on time to write note previously, I have with Internet sporadic contact.
You show Creator's splendid work beautifully.

Hi Larry,

Beautiful capture of the flowers and butterflies! The colors are well defined in your picture and the sharpness and POV are just great. The blurred BG is just awesome and gives great contrast to the pink colored flowers. I can smell summer in your picture. Great way to see the things around you!
very well seen!

thanks and regards,

Hello Larry,
A wonderfully composed image with gorgeous colors and excellent exposure. The focus is super sharp and the two butterflies are a real bonus. The one on the left is a Silver-spotted Skipper and the one on the right looks very much like a Gray Hairstreak. Great work!!!
