This is a lovely view of this gorgeous river i, too, really want to see once.
Indeed the natural erosion is very evident here and those canyon walls make some great photo subjects, even when viewed from above like here.
The vegetation is very interesting in this scenery, too - there are a lot of solitary trees or some in small bunches, that i think would make cool subjects, too, if in the right light.
Composition-wise, this is a good photo, but i'm not too sure why you chose such a high f-stop. I've noticed and read that when you're shooting distant subjects, the depth flattens and therefore you don't need to use a small aperture. Anyway, if this didn't affect your shooting handheld capabilities, i think it's fine.
Have a great weekend, my friend

een mooie foto met goed gezichtsveld.
Ik ben niet echt een panorama man, maar de compositie is goed.
Wel jammer van de zweem in de foto maar dat kan je niet helpen.
Lijkt wel of hier de herft al een beetje op gang komt.
Mooie natuurlijke kleuren.

The Snake is indeed a wild river. Float trips through Hell's Canyon are popular. I've passed near to Hell's Canyon a lot of times but time or snow or ? always get in the way. That dry, hazy, semi barren snake/tick filled terrain is an acquired taste that my husband/driver has yet to acquire. I'll have to see it through your eyes. Your image does capture the essence of that area. Did you take others that came in closer on that lovely "S" curve? Photography on long road trips is always "iffy" as so much depends on the conditions at the moment you happen to be there.

A beautiful landscape Neik!
Love the composition you choose, the winding canyon really draws your attention throughout the entire frame. I also like the fact that you didn't over saturate the colors, but allowed them to remain very natural looking. Great notes!!

A beautiful capture of this Snake River view, the POV lending itself to an excellent composition.
The positioning of the clumps of spruce by the rocky crags is interesting: I wonder if has to do with snow or grazing animals.
TFS and thanks also for your kind words on my 600th posting!
Have a good weekend,

Hello Niek !
I love this landscape, because it is beautiful, but also because we can se clearly see how the water has eroded the stone, with years and years - it's very interesting. Wonderful composition, great POV. Maybe the colors are a bit pale for my taste, but welln this is just a matter of personal opinion, and it doesn't mean the picture isn't beautiful as it is. Very well done !
