Long jaws with prominent teeth; smout twice as long as it broad,Body covered with horny plates, many keeled and bony, including 6 enlarged keeled plates behind head;long tail (rectacular in cross section) has 2 raised dorsal keels hindfeet webben.Adult gray or gray olive, with yellowish belly. Young greenish, with black marks on back and sides, and yellowish below.
