Hi Mate,
cracking shot from this very special looking place! I recognise it from when somebody else used to post shots from Romania, i think it was Steve (Marionas)?
Anyway, the gloom here really didn't detract from creating a s wonderful atmosphere, one i personally love. There's just something about low light and water. f6.3 at 3 seconds? That must have been dark!
Anyway, great clarity and tones in this one. My only minor nit would be perhaps those wonderful tree stumps get a bit lost at 17mm and i might have placed the tree stump nearest completely in the patch of reflected sky. I think your workshop works better to show them all, but the POV here which includes that wonderful reflection of the tree covered slopes is very beautiful indeed.
Anyway, thanks for sharing it!
Paul
(i would LOVE to visit here??)

Hello Horia!
You bring me memories from this very special place my friend! I was there four years ago, but it wasn't as beautifull as in your photo. Great shot - crystal clear, fresh, with blue tones. Excellent composition with leaves in upper corner and white frame.

Hi there
Thanks for your comment on my frog pic.
This image really draws you in even as a thumbnail, partly due to the drama.
I do like the calm reflections, the hint of mist in the distance, the over hanging tree and the foreground interest.
All in all a lovely image.
Now Ive read you are into to herpetology Im off to see your other images as Im a keen herpetologist myself.

Bonjour Horia,

Hi Horia,
This must be a magical place to be at early in the morning. The tree truks act as a sort of ghosts floating on the water. Your photo certainly has the feel to it. I love the distant fog and the great clarity in the FG. From your EXIF data I can see that it was still dark, what else to expect with an aperture of 6.3 at 30 seconds. However, you could have gone down in ISO and have a slightly better aperture for that important sharpness at the edges of the photo. (which cannot be seen at this size, so less of a worry)
I do see, Paul's point about the tree stupms getting lost. But I don't think you could have gotten closer to those stumps without a wetsuit.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Horia !
First, I want to thank you for your kind words and nice comment on my own lake picture, I appreciate it very much.
Then, coming to your picture, I must admit it is just perfect. The composition is wonderful with the grass in the FG, then the mirror-like water, the the wooded hills giving such awesome reflections. I like the evening colors, too - they look natural, but in the same time they give something like a mysterious atmosphere to your picture, making the lake look even more beautiful. Makes me want to jump in a plane and visit this place ! :-)
Very well done !
Valérie.
