Leucocoprinus birnbaumii
After a heavy rain at night, this fungus was terribly soaked. Though it lives under the canopy of a big tree, the rain still soaked its hat and head. some of the parts were torn and damaged. This fungus is very sensitive and soft.
Leucocoprinus birnbaumii, the yellow houseplant mushroom, previously known as Lepiota lutea, is a fungus that commonly grows in greenhouses or with potted plants. Other common names include the flower-pot parasol, and the plantpot dapperling.
The main identifying feature is the bright yellow color of the mushrooms. The cap (pileus) in the young fruit-bodies is usually taller than broad, though becoming convex, often with shallow radial grooves near the margin, with maturity. There is a ring left on the stipe.
This fungus is not edible. It can cause stomach trouble and may be poisonous.[1

Hello Foozi,
Beautiful photo of this drowned fungus. Excellent sharpness, natural colours and nice contrast against the dark BG. Good POV.

Hi Foozi,

Again a lovely capture of the mushroom with perfect details! The sharpness and POV are perfect and great use of the flash, works well here. The colors are perfectly shown.
Well done!

best regards,

Hello Foozi,

I found your notes very interesting.
Your capture certainly reveals the soaking that this fungus underwent; the fine, close-up shows the wet reflections as well as the ribbed texture of the surface. A good dof.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hallo Foozi
Although soaking wet, this is still beautiful. I like the shine created by the wetness, as well as the lined texture and that single water droplet at the bottom of the fungi. It looks like some kind of cabbage but I read you say it is not edible. Thanks for sharing the interesting notes and of course the lovely image. Best regards from Empangeni with is soaking with rain at the moment.

Ciao Foozi. Amazing light and good wet details. Very good contrast.

Hello Foozi !
Even wet and damaged by the rain, it's still a beautiful mushroom - a very delicate, fragile beauty. And the droplet of water only adds to this beauty. I really like the details, the colors, the composition and the POV, and you made great use of your flash. Very well done !

Inusual captura fruto de una buena observación y de la sensibilidad del fotógrafo.

Hi Foozi,

The subject is well framed. The close-up view is showing the details and colors of the leucocoprinus bimbaumii. The use of the flash has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.
