[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Venezuela, ronsoco in Peru, chigüiro, and carpincho in Spanish, and capivara in Portuguese, is the largest living rodent in the world. Its closest relatives are agouti, chinchillas, coyphillas, and guinea pigs. Its common name, derived from Kapiÿva in the Guarani language, means "master of the grasses"[10] while its scientific name, hydrochaeris, is Greek for "water hog".
Capybaras have heavy, barrel-shaped bodies and short heads with reddish-brown fur on the upper part of their body that turns yellowish-brown underneath. Adult capybaras may grow to 130 centimetres (4.3 ft) in length, and weigh up to 65 kg (140 lb). The top recorded weight is 105.4 kg (232 lbs). Capybaras have slightly webbed feet, no tail, and 20 teeth. Their back legs are slightly longer than their front legs and their muzzles are blunt with eyes, nostrils, and ears on top of their head. Females are slightly heavier than males.

Hi Ferran,
you are always good for a surprise, this Hydrochoerus is no exception. Interesting animal, this. You caught it in a not very Rodentia- like posture! Good job, thanks for presenting it and for adding a detailed note.
Best regards
Dietrich

Hola Ferran,
una splendida immagine di questo Capibara ripreso con ottima nitidezza e colori molto luminosi, mi piace molto la composizione con la particolare postura inclinata dell'animale che si contrappone al pendio naturale,
Grazie e complimenti

Hi Ferran,

I'm not sure I have ever seen a Capybera before. A great shot with fine details and beautiful colors. I love the eye! He looks wonderful in the nice natural setting.

Hi Ferran,
lovely capture in its real action. I like the background that gives a good graphic view. The sharpness is splendid. But the scientific name is the information that I get most.
thanks for the sharing.

regards,
Foozi

Bonsoir Ferran,
Anne

Hello Ferran !
Great capture of this big rodent ! We do not see many of them on TN, it's nice to see something else than all the usual butterflies (even if I like looking at them also). Funny pose, excellent details, nice natural colors, wonderful composition and POV, and an interesting note. Very well done !
Valérie.
