Lesser known backyard bugs:

This is a 15 mm long Shield bug (Heteroptera; Pentatomidae; Pentatoma rufipes (L.); Rotbeinige Baumwanze), ready to attack the unripe rasperry in front. The species is polyphagous and lives mainly in the crown of a tree, even overwinters there. it is distributed in all of Europe except the high North. Its coloration and the prominent horns on the pronotum give the species away.

Hello Dietrich,
This is an excellent macro!
The composition, POV, DOF, lighting and almost total sharpness amke this a superb portait of Pentatoma rufipes, a common species in Sweden but one I have not seen this year, a poor year for insects in my country.
Thanks and all the best,

Enfoque casi perfecto Dietrich y una gran profundidad de campo. Buen control de la iluminación y belleza del conjunto de colores, de evidente naturalidad.

Hi Dietrich. Once again your Minolta and lens has done a fine job in your hands. The detail and sharp focusing is first class. We can see every little marking on the shell with such bright natural colours. Well taken TFS.

Hello Dietrich,
Not easy to work with Kenko tubes. You did a great job. Focus and POV are excellent: a very good composition. Congratulations,
