[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this picture at my native place nearly a year ago. The marigold flowers were in bloom at that time, attracting plenty of insects including bees.
A lot has been written about Bees in general, so I would rather avoid the usual description and just add once again that I am finding it difficult to pursue my hobby of nature photography simply because I work from 10 to 6 everyday and use one weekly off just to rest and relax. Today is my off day, so here I am, posting a picture to mark my presence on TN and to say thanks to all of you who have written your critques on my sporadic pictures and have frequently been disappointed at my lack of reciprocation. I sincerely apologize for my inability to get back to you.
Thanks, and keep the TN going!

Nice to see you posting again Ram!
A nice macro from your archives of a Drone Fly (Eristalis sp.), so called because it resembles the honey bee drone. It is a type of hoverfly.
The POV shows most of its features with good general sharpness in a nice composition with the tagetes flower.
Thanks and all the best,

Hello Ram
it's a great capture of this beautiful little bee on a lovely orange flower.
The colours are well saturated with good light management.

A finely exposed tele-macro study from your rich archival chest Ram, your presence in TN always enriches this nature site while immensely pleasuring our eyes and minds, please do keep on posting!

Hi Ram

A great shot of this drone fly and marigold. The detail is excellent.

Best wishes

Dear Ram Sir,
Very beautiful macro shot of a bee having good time in Bhunjraru, HP. The soft hairs on its thorax & abdomen have come out very well against a unique combo of faded colors in the BG. TFS

Dear Mr. Thakur ji,

Lovely macro capture of the dronefly with superb details! The marigold flower gives great contrast to the lovely fly. The blurry dark BG works well here. The sharpness and POV are perfect.
Very well done!

Excellent capture with sharp details, nice colors and light, great BG,

Hi Ram sir,
Wonderful shot of this bee on the marigold flower. Superb colours and neat details. I like the DOF and your light handling. Kudos.

Superb shot with superb colours, Sir!

Ram, what happened to your 105mm! This is a good result for 70-300, but i'm sure with 105mm u would have got that extra punch :-), Lovely colors!

Hello Ram,

Fine details in the insect, and it is no wonder they are attracted to colourful flowers like this!
Pleasant macro work, DoF is just fine leaving the unimportant parts in a blur...
Strong colours where the lovely orange contrasts well with the green background!
