As i said in my last post, i'll be taking a break from the Mud Volcanoes shots (although i've got plenty more) but, lucky me, i got to visit other really beautiful places during that trip, too :)

Here, for instance, is a view of some of the peaks from the Făgăraş Group - the highest group of the Carpathians from Romania.
This photo is taken at Bālea Lake, at an altitude of exactly 2064 meters (at this very spot - that's what my fiend's excellent GPS said)...i've only added this details because Paul was wondering for any 2000+ places from my country :)

I'm afraid i don't know the exact name of the peak you see reflected here, but we climbed one near it and by approximating, i'd say it would be about 2300m a.s.l.

The photos is taken in the first moments of the morning, as the first rays of sun were hitting the peak.

Hope you'll like it and thanks for visiting.

Hi Horia.
You have used calm weather, lights and shadows perfectly for creating so nice landscape picture. Peak, its reflection into the water, amazing sky are fine for looking. Their sharpness, clearness of shapes are superb. Well done and kind wishes.

Hi Horia. The first thing that i saw was the refection in the water of the snow covered mountain. Along with the slight whispy clouds against the blue skys. All with natural colours. well taken from a good POV. TFS.

Buna Horia,
Frumos peisaj, incadrat cat este nevoie si avand culori cat si nuante, excelente.

Hello Horia,

An fine play of light and shadow, adding interest value to the naked summit!
I also notice the fine mirror effect, seems like a calm day at 2064 m...
A well balanced composition with good shapes and lines!

Pablo -

Dear Horia!

Your series about mountains is just beautiful. Difficult to say more! Here, in this picture, I particularly like the slightly blurred reflection in the water and the delightful lightplay. It's once again the proof that the best landscape pictures are taken early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

Kind regards

Hi Horia,
This is simplicity at its best. I like the the way the shadow divided the mountain into two and how the slightly distorted reflection made a carbon copy of it. The exposure is most impressive with both excellent details in the shadows and highlighted areas. My only thing is that I would have liked to see a little more space on the right because it now strangly feels as if the mountain range continues below the water level. I hope you understand what I mean and see.

Hi Horia

just been looking at your website and boy has your photography changed since I was last posting on TN. Love it...

Anyhow the photo - you know me - water and mountains - love them and this one jumped out at me instantly. Love the light in the picture and the overall feel to it calmness but so much energy...

anyhow TFS

Hi Horia,
Simple and minimalist composition which make the image beautiful in a very uncomplicated way with sense of open mind and spirit. No worry, relaxing and at ease. the light and shadow is well managed, looks easy but not always the case. the reflection is beautiful and soothing. Simply beautiful nature shot.

hello horia!
you have great pics on mighty landscapes and
this one is very beautiful!
well done!
