Hello All

I dedicate this post to Gert (Gert-Paassen ), when i saw this shot in my archives, i am thinking at him, it looks like so many images from him

it's for you Gert, for all your nice critique on my humble shots and for all your beautiful pictures here on TN and for your friendship

there are a bit noise in the BG but i hope you like it

i am not a specialist in flowers , but i think it is a Cardamine pratensis, let's me know when i am wrong

Cardamine pratensis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Growth

It is herbaceous perennial plant growing to 40-60 cm tall, with pinnate leaves 5-12 cm long with 3-15 leaflets, each leaflet about 1 cm long. The flowers are produced on a spike 10-30 cm long, each flower 1-2 cm diameter with four pale pink (rarely white) petals. It grows best close to water.

It is grown as an ornamental plant in gardens, and has as a result of cultivation become naturalised in North America. In some European countries the plant is now under threat ( e.g. parts of Germany). It is a food plant for the orange tip butterfly (Anthocharis cardamines) and makes a valuable addition to any garden which aims at attracting wildlife. It was once used as a substitute for Watercress.

Folklore

In folklore it was said to be sacred to the fairies, and so was unlucky if brought indoors. It was not included in May day garlands for the same reason.

Hi Jacqueline.
What a nice presentation of the charming flowers. I like great use of large aperture value and precise DOF. Flowers and buds are sharpened perfectly and surroundings are blurred greatly. Some shadows on the blossoming flower against the sunlight on the few petals are great point. My compliments and best regards. Well done.
Alexei.

Hi Jacqueline. I am sure Gert will like this picture of the flower.
You have taken this with fine detail and sharp focusing. I like the way the like is just catching the right hand side of the flower. Which has such natural colours. The have a pastel look about them, Well taken TFS.

Merhaba Jacqueline,

Philippe.

Bonjour Jacqueline,
very pleasant soft light, elegant composition, perfect focus on the flower's main parts. Beautiful to see a beam of direct ight touching just the clearly focussed top of the flower, while stem and leaves gadually are disappear in the softness of distance. A very nice, artistically well made presentation to Gerd.
With thanks, and best regards,

Hello Jacqueline,
A superb simple and well composed capture of the flowers of Cardamine pratensis. You are right the style is that of our friend Gert Paassen and it is a nice tribute to him.
Excellent lighting, BG and DOF too.
Thanks and best wishes,
Ivan

Jacqueline,
When I first saw the thumbnail I wrongly assumed that the flower was a bit soft; I WAS WRONG!!!
Infact it is EXTREMELY well focused.
The clarity is of EXCELLENT quality.
A lovely dedication.

Hello Jacqueline,
You post a pretty little flower that I'm not familiar with. You have captured it's beauty extremely well in this nicely composed image. Love the single bloom surrounded by the tiny purplish buds. Good DOF and fine detail make this a wonderful photo for all to enjoy viewing.

Hi Jacqueline,
diese zarte Blüte ist wunderhübsch.
Ist das Wiesenschaumkraut? Sieht so aus, gefällt mir sehr.
Herzlichen Dank für die Erinnerung an die warmen Tage, jetzt wird's Winter, brrrrrr.

Hallo Jacqueline
Now this is my cup of tea and exactly what the doctor has ordered for today. This image has such a lot that I personally fancy and appreciate in a photo. The colours is wonderful and the unopened flower buds softness my heart in a flash. The opened flower in all its splendour is soft on the eye, and the fine lining inside the petals is very catching. In my eyes, this is a very special image. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna

Bonjour Jacqueline

Hi Jacqueline,
You show this delicate flower beautifully. The soft sunlight on the petals and soft background make the flower stands out. Very well done.
