Dear TrekNaturers,

It was quite a lot of time has gone since my last upload was taken to our beloved site. The reason is I'll have my exams on the university as a "fungi controller" on 10th of November, so I'm learning and learning...

But I can't avoid sharing this photo with You and dedicate it to all herptile lovers on TN. What You see here is Podarcis muralis, the Common Wall Lizard by my opinion. You know, I love amphibians / reptiles as an amateur, so the ID specification may be wrong. Please let me know.

As each amphibian and reptile species, protected by the Hungarian laws. Local status: not endangered. Value: 10000 HUF.

Photo, story: with my father and sons we visited this hill. My photo bag (including my cameras) was in my knapsack when I saw this lizard sunbathing on the rock. Fortunately my 10-year-old son was just doing a landscape shot so he had his HP R607 in his hands. I asked for his cam - and here's the result. Excuse me for the sharpness problem, I know the photo could have been much better with my Lumix, but it was impossible to get it out of the knapsack, the lizard wouldn't wait for it... :) After I've done the shot the lizard disappeared in one of the holes. But I was very happy, because I never before managed to photograph a lizard, so this is my debut reptile photo.

I promised Bayram to share this image when he comes back from his latest herpetological trip - so my Barea, here it is, I hope You, being Herptile Lover, will like it. As well as others.

Thanks for Your critiques in advance. Have a nice weekend, László

Hello Lásló,
I was hoping to take some nice fungal photos for TN but this year has been very bad for fungi in S.Sweden. Maybe you have had a better season!
This is a fine capture of a female Podarcis muralis taken from a fine POV to show the whole length, including the tail, with good sharpness and fine colours in an ideal composition among the rocks.
Nice to view and TFS!
Have a good weekend,

Hello Laszlo,
This is absolutely Podarcis muralis which we observed in Black Sea trip with my supervisor Prof. Bayram. He also took some shots. This is also great shot of this pretty lizard in its natural biotope to with fine pose on the rock.
TFS beauty and your nice present to us.
Kind regards,

Hello Laszlo,
Amazing close-up shot of this pretty wall lizard.
Details and composition are superb. Congrats and thanks for your lovely dedication too.
TFS and G's,

Hello Laszlo! ...

That's good to see a picture of yourself again. With this you are showing very good picture quality and overall approach, excellent light management. As I always find it difficult to focus well reptiles, due to its length. You've solved that with a f/7.4

Well done, good result, thanks for sharing!

Hi Laszlo,
This is such a fine reproduction of a female Podarcis muralis in fine focus and exposure. A good capture of a specimen with a whole tail in its natural surroundings! I think to get the right perspective you should rotate this image colckwise a little.

Ciao Ladislao,
a very beautiful picture of Podarcis muralis, very good sharpness and splendid natural colours, i like the diagonal composition and the very good contrast of lighting and shading.
Best regards
Buona domenica

Nice look at this great looking sunbather Laszlo, good that you were able to grab this shot at the spur of the moment...
