Hi again friends,

I've been out with a bad flu the past few weeks so i took some time off from TN...i'm just fine now and i'll try to get back to "active duty" :)

However, being busy at first and then ill, i couldn't take any autumn shots this season and i was really disappointing about that. Being down, i did what any other photographer probably does and buried my head in my archives. I stumbled upon the photos i took in the US a couple years back, during my first days with my dSLR. I did feel a bit melancholic and i do miss the places and some people there...that's why i decided to post one more from there.

I found this photo of the famous Grand Canyon, taken from the South Rim at sunset and overlooking the Colorado River in the distance.

Hope you'll like it and thanks for visiting.

Hi Mate,
great to see you back, i hope you are feeling much better now! Sounds like you were pretty ill for some time :o(
This is a lovely photo to dust off and share with the world. An extremely impressive scene all round, with lovely light catching the famous sandstone of Arizona and great details. It must have been awesome to stare at this scene with the desert air and dying sun.
Hope you can get out now you are better and get some fresh shots.

Take care my friend,

Hello Horia,
You kept this impressive and unusual shot of the Grand Canyon too long in your archives!
The timing of the sunset light is superb, highlighting the dominant rock formations and the winding Colorado River is well seen and forms a fine part of the composition.
Thanks for this delight and I hope you are fully recovered from the influensa!
(Ulla and I have just been vaccinated against it.)
All the best,

Hi Horia

Wow, that's a big hole my friend. It must be a very humbling experience when
standing there next to it and overlooking this massive phenomenon.

You did a great job to balance the lighting with most of the canyon being in some
shade with just a few of the peaks catching the rays of the sun. However, the
end result show lovely contrast of all the valleys and the mounts inside the gorge.
The aperture at f/9 ensured the range of the DOF captured all the lovely detail.

Well done and TFS.

Hello Horia,
A wonderful photo from your archives. The colors are beautiful and the composition is just right in order to show off this amazing canyon. Love the soft lighting and perfect exposure!!

Buna Horia

Hi Horia!

I'm so glad to see you back and I hope that this terrible souvenir is just a bad souvenir.

I like your picture very much. On one hand, it remembers me my wedding-trip to that place many years ago. On the other hand, I like it because of the pastel colour tones and the delicate evening atmosphere. Moreover, the view is superb and the Grand Canyon is full of fascinating shapes and colours. Your picture reflects this at best.

Kind regards

Hi Horia,
The small thumbnail certainly does no justice to the larger version. The small details you've captured in the clear front rocks are very beautiful. The late sunlight enhanced that part even more. I like it that you kept the distant in its natural haze since it gives it a very natural feeling. The slight sliver of river is a great touch and is pretty well placed in the composition. It must have been a great spot to stand and feel little.

I was just here a few months ago. Perhaps standing just right at the same location. It was also a very lovely sunset time. This may not be your best shot due to the low light, but certainly better than many I have seen. Very nice POV and a lovely composition. Thanks Horia.

Hello Horia,

This is an amazing landscape, nature at its best!
You picked a fine moment as the great light adds a special atmosphere to the scenery...
Pin sharp details in the rocks, lovely colours and the feeling of depth is stunning - fine work here!
