Junonia lavinia (Cramer 1775)

When I saw this butterfly in the leaves of grass near of a rural road in our town, perhaps photograph it because I really liked her attitude and that surprised me was so "quiet". Our Juniona butterflies are usually very lively, almost never are quiet, rarely can photograph them with ease, do not let them get too close. However, this was very quiet and allowed me to photograph it from above POV, allowed me several shots and don't made attempt to fly off. Very rarely in this species!

A few days later, when I edited the photos, I noticed the existence of two small parasites (those red dots) near the left eye of the butterfly, there is another parasite, near the front right wing root.

I do not know, but I think that the unusual attitude of "quietness" of this butterfly, had much to do with these parasites and how they affect it.

NOTE: In the left lower third of the photo, you can see a small "bug thorn", another unplanned guest!

Olá Jesus

incrivel a nitidez desta foto !

TFS

abraço;
