Hello TN Friends,

The more we look for, the more we find it.

I never saw this estrange treehopper and I`m almost sure that it`s the first on TN.

Maybe it`s a nymph (around 6mm length), because it don`t have wings, but only a big withe head, like a cotton ball.

I had to decrease de light (after shot) to see the details in the white mass, and unfortunately, the total pic get dark.

I hope you like and enjoy this exclusive insect.

Thanks for looking and critique.

Hello Francisco
Interesting capture with great details.

Hi Francisco

Superb shot of this amazing little creature. What a bizzare adaptation this species has developed to help protect it from predation. Great composition and DOF, the light is fine.

Chris

Hello Francisco!
Perfect documentary picture of treehopper larvae. You are right, this is not an adult specimen. Larvae use this "cotton" to protect againt predtors (thank to this they are not visible for birds, ect.). Anyway, this is not a part of insect's head but only special substance "putted" on its back :)
Thank you for showing this educative and interesting picture!
Greetings from Poland,
Radomir

Verry good and interesting immage.

Hello Fransisco,
An excellent macro of this tree hopper with very good light management of the sticky white protective secretion on its body. The sharpness and details are superb with the dark BG giving a fine contrast.
A fine contribution to TN!
Thanks and best wishes,
Ivan

Hi Francisco, this is truely a wonderful scoop! I never seen nothing before and i can't help you about the name, but the insect is very curiuos and strange and i'm happy to see something new on TN.Top quality of sharpness, colors and composition. My best compliments, have a nice day,Luciano.

Hi Francisco,
Incredible animal. Never seen anything like this before. Clear details.
During post processing, using "curves" instead of "contrast" allows you to adjust contrasts specifically. In your case, darkening the whites while letting darker tones untouched.
