Dear Horia!

I'm so glad to hear from you and to discover this superb winterly scenery. You have joined Paul, Niek and in a way me, too... The atmosphere in your picture is very seasonal and reflects the winter at best. I like the unity of the colour tones very much and the absence of pronounced contrasts highlights the impression of peace and serenity. Moreover, the simplicity of the composition and the perfect lighting make this picture an outstanding one!

Here in Lodz the winter is also already present but as for now - not so cold :)
Lovely presentation Horia! I like composition and panoramic viev (even if composition is rather narrow). Grey clouds add something special to this presentation, and the Pinus tree (???) makes natural frame of the photo.

So...you now have the amazing Sigma 10-20 at last! In your hands it will create some masterpieces, i am sure. I bet you can't wait to get perfect shooting conditions eh? Although you seem to be doing ok so far! I really like you POV here, as always your composition has made the best use of the way the land lies, creating huge depth. Exposure looks good and tells the story of that winter light perfectly. I predict we will be seeing alot more from you and this great lens...well done! (Just watch out for catching your own feet in the frame when you use it portrait style ;o)

Hi Horia,
What is more beautiful than snow and mountains. Consider yourself luck to have a friend with a house near this wonderful stretch of nature. It is great to see you bought the 10-20 lens, and I am sure it will help you make many beautiful photos. It will certainly change your perspective when looking through the lens.
I like te minimum pallete of colors and the fine details on the FG. The bleak winter sun added something extra to the photo and gave some warmth to the sky.

Your first use of wide angle lens is wonderful. Very delicate reproduction of light colour shades. I like crisp sharp details of all scene. Well done and best regards.

Dear Horia,
Bihor is definitely good for you - I saw - much of your excellent work was photographed in this area.

My first thought - when I saw this "cold" landscape - was "Emma". There is no doubt a case of "Seelenverwandschft" between you and her.

Your ability to convey temperature in a photo is quite amazing!

I did also check the "medium", because the shades/variations of white/grey/black are stunning.

I notice the dark ridge, so successfully used in your previous photo "Mountains and Snow for Emma" - this time leading from 9 o'clock in your photo to the tree on the right hand side.

The cold is emphasised by the grey winter-sky, promising further snowfall any minute soon.

Another "cold" factor is the horizon melting into the sky in the far distance.

Last not least, the deep snow in the foreground makes me think of cold feet - making it necessary to stamp the ground...
