Hi Anna. This is a first class close up of the Southern Yellow-Billed Hornbill . You have been able to capture every little detail , with your sharp focusing. The colours are spot on . I like the way the huge bill has taken on a shine from the light . Interesting notes too . Well taken TFS.

A splendid catch, your contribution on how to end in 2010 begins in 2009, that is superb.
A splendid dedication you do at the beginning of the year.
A warm Happy New Year, a year in 2010 better than 2009.
We expect beautiful picture of you in November.
But above all much health, happiness and beautiful pictures.

Miss Piggy, this Hornbill is stunning. And such a wonderful dedication to Smitha. It took me a while to get beyond that piercing eye and the fantastic profile of the beak. But the plumage is just as amazing. Excellent colors, details, and composition. Quite a picture to start off the new year.

A great close-up of a bird that I have only seen on the National Geographic channel. Excellent detail of the facial feathers, which actually seems to have a wool or hair-like look and texture to them. The bill looks to be a very heavy duty one, and the bold yellow color makes it stand out quite easily. Thanks for providing a close-up of this interesting and beautiful bird.

Happy New Year, Anna!
What a character this yellow-billed hornbill fella seems to be.
The yellow beak and red face make a striking contrast.
Clear eye and excellent details showing each feather!
I also like the way you cropped/composed this shot.
The close up really highlights the expression on the face.
The look he gives you definitely says, "Don't mess with me! I'm not in the mood."
A wonderful portrait of this interesting bird.
TFS. : )
