Nice to meet and hope you'll be doing fine in a brand new year. This is a fine photo of the flower on a bright sun day, seems like the photo was taken around midday when the sun was right up above you. Loved the blurred, shimmering background behind. The capture is fantastic. Thanks for sharing...take care..warmest regards/Abid

A very nice capture of this beautiful Gladiolus! Great sharpness and I love the colours against the soft pastel background!
TFS and regards, Ulla
You keep surprising me with your finds!
In my field guide they show 4 1/2 pages of different Gladiolus types for South Africa alone; 180 - 300 species of gladiolus (mainly) in Africa. You must have a "hard disk" in your head instead of a brain like we mortals to remember / identify all these plants...
Apparently this Sword Lily originated in Russia!?! I admire the colours in you photo and am not surprised that the Gladiolus family is so popular as an ornamental plant.
A beautiful flower - beautifully presented!
My best wishes for 2010 for you and your family,
Greetings from a sweltering Lowveld,

Great capture of the flowers of a species of gladiolus unknown to me. Taken in excellent lighting with fine sharpness and colours against a contrasting OOF natural green BG.
Thanks and best wishes for the New Year,
