Hey - a flower from space?
Or a water-plant?
Is there anybody inside???

This brave bee was looking to get inside of this strange looking flower - with success as I watched.

It's the flower of the Cannonball-Tree (Couroupita guianensis). It is so-called because of its brown cannon ball-like fruits.
So if you see one - be careful that no fruit will fall on your head ...

If you are interested, here is another shot of the flower - more open - from me on TL.

Enjoy the day
Sabine

Hallo Sabine,
Anne

Hallo Sabine,

What an interesting flower this is? Nevermind the bee, I interest in the flower. Like a strange creature. The bee must be really brave.

Bravo and TFS,

Hello Sabine!

For me it looks like rather some specie from coral reef. Great shape and colours, very exotic from european point of view :-) You captured interesting scene, in SF movie poor bee would be eaten soon :-)

hello Sabine

an excellent and very beautiful photo, for the bee it would be
environmental photo, fine POV and the way the bee is framed
on the image, superb focus sharpness and details, very beautiful
warm luminosity and colour tones, TFS

Hallo Sabine,

This is fantastic Sabine, no wonder that bee is more than a little curious, that strange and beautiful flower looks like a reversed live Nautilus from here, with a lot of "tentacles" lookind for some morsel to eat out there! THanks indeed for this astonishing scene my friend!
Cheers,
Mehmet

Hallo Sabine!

Markus

Hi Sabine,
These are for sure one of the more exotic and beautiful flowers I've ever seen.
You've got and outstanding shot here, so sharp and clear, plenty of info to look at.
So good the inclusion of the bee trying to get into it.
Great work and thanks for share,
JM

Hello Sabine.

Congratulations for this interesting and original photography. It is accompanied by an original and humorous caption. The technical quality of the photograph is one of the best. Perhaps a bit of overexposure of the white flower.

Again, congratulations for this photograph.

Thank you for the sharing. See you soon on treknature for other pictures.

All the best.

Philippe.

Hello Sabine,
We know the flower of the Cannonball tree well from our visits to Singapore. It is amazing how they flower directly from the tree trunk!
A fine capture with utmost sharpness and fine use of flash to present both the flower and the visiting bee with excellent clarity and colours.
Thanks for this nice reminder,
Kind regards,
Ivan
