Hello Paul,
First time I see this species but such uncommon photo with exactly white BG. It remind illustration from a book. Perfect sharpness and colours.
Regards, Pawel

Hallo Paul,
Voor mij al weer een voltreffer, deze foto. I think you're right, an African Goshawk, adult male. Zelden dat je een roofvogel treft die bereid is zo recht in de camera te kijken. Jammer van de witte achtergrond want de rest van de foto is super, maar daar kun je natuurlijk niets aan doen.
De roofvogel en de stronk zijn prachtig.
Groet,
Peter

Whatever the identidy of this raptor, it sure is a majestic bird Paul, and your low angle frontal capture in perfect focus and exposure reveal its salient characteristics rather well. TFS indeed my friend!

Excellent portrait of this Bird (half Buteo, half Accipiter?)great sharpness, colors and details! TFS!
Hi, Paul
This is a juvenile Dark Chanting Goshawk Melierax metabates. A Kruger classic species! A shame about the white background, but a nicely detailed shot of this bird in a very relaxed, natural pose.
Regards, Nigel.

Hi Paul,
You might think identifying birds of prey is a piece of cake. Unfortunately the opposite is true.
Photography wise the focus and depth of field are accurately done. I wonder whether you overexposed somewhat here to adjust the camera light metering.
I'll try to remember this is a juvenile Dark Chanting Goshawk. And it's well captured.
TFS
Annick
