My dear friends,
Many thanks for your visiting and critiques on my previous Vormela peregusna post.
Today, I will add a bird from last Spring. It is Haematopus ostrelagus - Poyraz Kuşu [TR], Eurasian Oystercatcher [EN] from the family HAEMATOPODIDAE (CHARADRIIFORMES). In Europe and Turkiye, it is represented by the nominate form, H. o. ostrelagus. Some other subspecies lives in Central Asia and Russia (ssp. longipes), and Kamchatka in the Russian Far East and northern parts of China (ssp. osculans).
The species is identified by black and white plumage, red legs and strong broad red bill from plover-like birds. It uses its long bill for smashing or prising open molluscs such as mussels or for finding earthworms. On the contrary, its vernacular name, it dosent feed on much oysters.
The species is seen in Western Anatolia,e.g. Gediz Delta (İzmir Prov.) around the year; whereas we see it in Central and Eastern Anatolia and several parts of Turkiye in summer.
I captured it in Kulu (Düden) Lake near Kulu (Konya Prov.) during my previous trip in the last April. Other posts from Kulu can be seen by clicking last link.
Thanks for visiting.

Merhaba Ahmet Hocam,

Salam Akhi Prof. Ahmet,
indeed a very skillful shot from you showing the gracefulness of the bird. Sharpness and clarity is the key elements here, besides the soft ness of the light blue background. They all give a simple but special effect to bring out the beauty of the subject.
The colours of the bird is also well coaptured, as i could imagine the dufficulty in composing this shot.
well done and excellent view of this special bird.

Selamlar sayın hocam,
uçarken çok güzel bir çalışma olmuş.
en güzel dileklerimle hoşcakalın.
