Dear Ron!
I do almost the same experience with the Chamois in my homeland. Nowadays, I can approach them when I'm hiking and get close at about 30-50m. I remember when I was a child, at the same place, my dad and I could approach them, when we were lucky to see them, at some 200m in the best case.
Your picture shows us this beautiful little fellow in a simple, yet effective and very pleasant composition. You are glad to have the opportunity for such a beautiful view and you took full advantage of it.
I wish you a nice day and many other encounters like this one.
Kind regards
Markus

Hello Ron,
A nice nature photo taken when winter reduces the opportunity to take shots is always an extra bonus and compensation.
Like this fine capture of a young deer. The low lateral POV taken with fine sharpness and colours against a nice OOF natural BG all contribute to a great capture.
Thanks and kind regards,
Ivan

Hi Ron,
A nice image, nice light and color.
She's too hungry to be put off her feed by a photographer honking his horn, apparently. This is a rough time of year for them, not much food left, and fresh greens of Spring are still weeks away.
Weather here has been very similar to yours except we currently have a thin covering of snow.

Hello Ron,
The weather is similar here. Fantastic photo of this doe. The matching colours in this photo are very beautiful. It is almost camouflaged. Great sharpness, details, OOF BG and POV.
Very nice composition.

Hi Ron,
We don't have these deer here and their behavior sounds different from our Mule Deer. They will stop whatever they are doing and stare at you. This is a lovely shot and I hope she found some food. I love the colors of her coat and the fine details of her face and ears. Nothing to shoot here either - cold (for us) and rain.

Hello Ron,
Very nice photo, the deer is perfect sharp, natural colours and environment. In my country this year we have very deep snow about 2 feet from beginning year and still it snows. I've taken shot deer from far distance which posted few days ago.Deers have hard time.

Ho Ron,
the colour in this shot speaks of the season well. It is indeed a hard time of year for them, not much food and harsh weather to endure. I like this shot with this young doe busy feeding, uncaring of her observers attempts to get her attention. Good details and clarity in what looks like less than ideal light - well done!
Paul
