plant
Dissotis rotundifolia (Sm.) is a small perennial plant whose stems are between 60-90 centimeters. The plant does not upright, but rather a blanket on the ground. The stems are quadangulaires. Its leaves are opposite, oval and hairy. The flowers are purple. They are equipped with several stamens and false stamens, as shown in the photograph. The flowers are isolated or grouped in small panicle with few flowers.
This plant belongs to the family of Melastomaceae . It is relatively common in Africa, ordinarily, in tropical and equatorial humid areas.
This plant is known in traditional medicine. Studies in Ghana, for example, have attributed to the plant of many virtues: abdominal pain, diarrhea, poisoning, gonorrhea, rheumatism, prenatal medicine, colds, asthma, oliguria, orchitis.
Photography
The picture was taken in a very sunny morning. The camera is set to aperture priority mode. The sensitivity is equivalent to iso-200. The lens is in close Macro mode, with a focal length of 8 mm.
To have a good depth of field, despite the proximity of the object and the magnification ratio, the opening was set to the minimum allowed by the camera: F/11. With these parameters, the calculated speed is 1 / 280 th of a second. |

Bonjour Philippe,
Anne
