[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I have been making the two and a half hour trip up to Magee Marsh every weekend since the first of May in hopes of getting some migrating Warbler photos. I must admit I was a little disappointed in this years final results due to bad weather conditions, and not so good timing on my part.
I hit a period of extremely high winds and rain for three days in a row. We even had a tornado touch down in the Northwestern part of the region. The first few days it was so windy that I couldn't have gotten a shot even with the best made stabilazation lens in the world. I did manage to get some decent images on some of the calmer days which I'll begin to post this evening.
The Yellow-rumped Warbler spends it's summers in the conifer forest of Canada. When insects get scarce it tends to feed on berries and will even visit feeders for a snack.
Most of the early arrivals to the marsh were either Yellow-rumped or Palm Warblers. The yellow-rumped seemed to like to stay up high in the trees, but occasionally they would make their way down to eye level giving me good opportunities for some shots. |

Wonderfully detailed and processed capture Ron... excellent composition, lighting, and color. Someday... I hope to get a camera capable of getting such magnificent bird photos and then pray for the skill to capture them as fantastically as many of you have done. :)
