|Black Swan Cygnus atratus|
Arrived in New Zealand 1860 from Australia.
Large bird mostly black in colour some white feathers under the wings.
Spread through New Zealand largest populations usually near the coast.
Breeding in August to September in a nest of grasses and rushes which are made into a mound close to water and lined with down feathers.
They lay 4-7 Greeny White eggs.

a very nice capture of this black swan, lovely pose and great composition,
this elegant bird is well detailed, the green water is beautiful too
