Latin name: Campanula persicifolia
English name: Peach-leaved Bellflower
German name: Pfirsichblättrige Glockenblume

Campanula persicifolia or Peach-leaved Bellflower is a plant species of the genus Campanula.

Its flowers are cup-shaped and can be either lilac-blue or white[1]

Its foliage is narrow and glossy with a bright green appearance. [1]

It is common in the Alps and other mountains in Europe. It grows at lower altitudes in the north, and higher up further south, passing 1,500 m in Provence.

It flowers normally in June; a dry summer may reduce or inhibit its flowering.


Special information´s

Campanula persicifolia is not typical for our region, it grows together with Euphorbia cyparissias, Leucojum vernum, Lilium martagon, ,Pyrola minor, Gagea lutea, Viscaria vulgaris etc.

The picture was made from 500m of the natural protected area which is calling Beilstein.

Hi Sascha,
Natur pur ... da hast Du ja ein idyllisches Plätzchen gefunden. Ich mag den tiefen POV (Mann o Mann, mir fallen schon die deutschen Begriffe nicht mehr ein ...) und die leuchtenden Farben. Außerdem herrliches Licht und ein guter Hintergrund.
