Hi Laurens,
a whiff of mediterranean, this Meloid beetle. Very well presented, sharpness light and all. These interesting beetles lay eggs into the ground. The hatched larvae go for a trip to find grasshopper eggs--and to attack them for food.

Incredible close-up shot of a this a bit dangerous (since they can secrete rhe allergic cantharidin) beauty taken from an impressive POV in upside-down composition. All looks wonderfully exposed in an elegant type of way.

Hoi laurens,
je hebt wel heel erg veel mooi detail weten vast te leggen in dit kleine insectje. Je compositie is een goeie, misschien iets meer een diagonale en je onderwerp minder centraal, maar toch al mooi zoals ie is.
