[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a buff-necked ibis (also called the white-throated ibis...Theristicus caudatus). It inhabits open habitats in the colder parts of South America and feeds on snakes, lizards, insects, etc. Its call is a raucous screech that can be heard a kilometer away. I shot this one from about 50 m with the equivalent of a 560 mm lens.
