[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here's a female (I think) Green Darner, Anax junius, or possibly an immature male.

It's found over a wide area of North America as well as south to Panama and occurs in the Caribbean, Tahiti, and Asia from Japan to mainland China, according to Wikipedia. Adults eat wasps, butterflies, mosquitoes, and other flying insects (including other dragonflies), and in turn are eaten by birds, frogs and fish.

I used a monopod to steady my camera, photographed at the Bartel Grassland south of Chicago.

Hello John,
A nice sharp capture of, judging by the anal appendages, looks like a female Anax junius. The dorsal POV shows its details with excellent colours against the busy but OOF natural BG. The sunlight refection spots are not too disturbing and help to emphasise the wings.

Hi John,
A nice capture of this beautiful Green Darner dragonfly. Very well composed with sharp details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Good Morning MF John,

Hello John,
Great shot of this female Green Darner. The detail is superb and the colors are beautiful and natural. I like the little glint of sunlight on the wings and also the way you can vividly see the leaves through the wings. Well done!!
I see these guys in the field behind the house from time to time. This year they seem to be a little more scarce then previous years.

Nice & sharp John, outstanding color/clarity.
Luv those wings sparkling in the sun too :)
Well done!
