Bachelor's Buttons

This recipe is a favorite because it's so quick, easy and economical and yet looks and tastes so special. Loved by children and adults alike.

1 egg
3 oz. butter
glace' cherries
5 oz. self rising flour
3 oz. castor sugar (plus a little extra for dipping buttons)

Prepare a greased and floured baking tray. Rub the butter into the flour, add sugar then the well beaten egg and mix together. Take small knobs of the mixture and dip each knob into castor sugar and place on baking tray. Put half a cherry on each and bake in a hot oven until golden brown.

Don't make buttons too big as they spread in the cooking

OR you could just enjoy them, they have a short lifespan.

Hello Bob,
Your composition reminds me that summer is drawing to and end and it will only be a short time until winter is upon us once again. The open pine cones, leaf litter and dried needles complimented by the lone Button, is a sure sign that fall is right around the corner.
Your recipe sounds good, now if I can only convince Rosie to make it!

Hi Bob,
such a wonderful surprise - YOU are back - and I'm also back after my summer-break and happy so see you are making shots and you are posting again. I'm very glad that you feel better after that difficult time for you. This shot is so wonderful, I like the warm colours of autumn in combination with the violet flower very much. Thanks, all the best for you my friend - and greetings from the sunny Germany

A fine presentation of both the flowers and the recipe with the same name!
I like the contrast of colours of the striking blue flower (what is also called Cornflower in Europe) and the brown and orange BG of its habitat. The composition is great too.
You may have had a physical set-back but you haven't lost your touch Bob!
That also applies to the WS you did on my latest: thanks!
Take care,

Ciao Bob, sweet recipe:) lovely composition with beautiful flowers, splendid colors, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio

Hi Bob,
The Leica in your hands sure works magic. This wonderful composition has the trademark saturate colour and sharp detail that you and it always bring. Great work Bob.

Hi Bob,

The rocks are framing well the flowers. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the Bachelor's buttons flowers It is clear and precise. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.
