The Scaly-breasted Munia, Lonchura punctulata also known as Nutmeg Mannikin or Spice Finch is a small passerine bird. This estrildid finch is a resident breeding bird in tropical southern Asia from India and Sri Lanka east to Indonesia and the Philippines. The Scaly breasted Munia are already widespread in lowland agricultural areas and wetland.

Now is this a beauty or not? Indeed a dainty creature with such charm and charisma that is seen from the word go. It is really a striking bird and to look at all its lovely qualities, especially the detail in the plumage is a sheer pleasure.
